Service Process for Foreigners to Apply for Work Permit in China

(1) Online application
Applicants should fill in and submit online the "Application Form for Foreign Expert Work Permit in China" according to the requirements listed in the "Foreign Expert Work Permit Management System" of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs.
(2) Online pre-check
Chongqing High-Level Talent One-Stop Service Platform will take 5 working days to complete the pre-check. Applicants meeting the application conditions will be approved; otherwise, the application will be returned or terminated online with explanations.
(3) Acceptance
The employer should submit the following materials based on the results of the pre-check:
1. Application Form for Foreign Expert Work Permit in China with official seal of the employer; 2. Personal resume (including education and work experience); 3. A copy and a Chinese translation of the highest degree certificate or professional qualification certificate; 4. The employment Agreement or contract; 5. A health certificate issued by foreign health care institution certified by the Chinese embassy or consulate, or issued by the health and quarantine department designated by the Chinese government; 6. Proof of no criminal record; and 7. Proof of work experience. (Note: provide Chinese translation for foreign language materials.)
The application materials will be accepted if complete and in line with the statutory form; otherwise, notice should be given to the applicant on the spot or online; the materials not corrected after the notice will not be accepted.
(4) Review and approval
Chongqing Municipal Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs will complete the review and approval within 5 working days from the acceptance of the written materials, and issue the Foreign Expert Work Permit in China. The permit will be produced and issued for free by Chongqing Municipal Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs.
